How we handle health data
RouteSift uses a few numbers about your body to make routes and workouts fit you. This page says exactly which ones, what they are for, and what never happens to them. It is part of the Privacy Policy.
What counts as health data here
- Height and weight
- Resting, maximum and threshold heart rate, and heart rate recorded during rides
- FTP (functional threshold power) and power recorded during rides
- VO2 max
- Cycling workouts, including those you complete and those a coach plans for you
Where it comes from
- You type it in, under Settings, Training profile or Health data.
- A sensor or bike computer records it during a ride you record in RouteSift.
- Apple Health, once that connection is available, and only the types you allow in the iOS permission screen. RouteSift reads those values on demand and writes a ride to Apple Health only if you switch that on.
- A training app you connect, for planned and completed workouts.
What it is for
- Training zones and workout targets that match you.
- Route physics: how fast you climb, how long a loop takes, and where a workout's efforts fit on real roads.
- Training load over time (TSS, CTL, ATL and TSB) from your rides.
Every one of these is computed for you and shown only to you.
What never happens
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, in RouteSift or anywhere else.
- It is never sold, and never shared with data brokers or advertisers.
- It is never shown to other riders or joined into any public or aggregate dataset.
- It is never shared with third parties except the provider that hosts our database under contract, and the training app you have connected when a workout is synced back.
- Data from Apple Health is used only to provide the features you enable, as Apple requires, and is never used for any other purpose.
Your control
- Edit or delete any single value in Settings, Training profile or Health data.
- Delete every health value at once with “Delete all health data” in Settings, Health data.
- Withdraw Apple Health access at any time in Settings or in the iOS Health app.
- Deleting your account erases all of it, and from backups within 30 days.
